COTTAGE FOOD OPERATIONS
The Lil’ Baker, LLC operates as an in-home micro bakery under Virginia’s Home Kitchen Food Processing Exemption, commonly known as the Cottage Food Law. Products are prepared in a private home kitchen that is not inspected by the state.
Orders are arranged directly with customers by phone, email, or message. This allows details to be discussed clearly and personally. The sale itself, including payment and transfer of goods, takes place in person at pickup or delivery. The Lil’ Baker, LLC does not offer online checkout or accept online payment in advance.
TIMELINES
When ordering with us, please be mindful that orders must be placed at least four to five days in advance. Larger orders or orders with detailed custom designs may need up to one week’s notice. The Lil’ Baker, LLC will confirm availability through direct communication before scheduling an order.
If an order needs to be changed, including flavor or item type, the change must be requested no later than 72 hours before the agreed pickup or delivery date. After that deadline, changes will not be accepted.
PAYMENT
Payment happens in person at pickup or at delivery. The Lil’ Baker, LLC accepts cash and in-person electronic payment at the time of exchange.
The Lil’ Baker, LLC does not accept online checkout or online payment in advance.
Because items are made to order and are perishable, all sales are final once the order is exchanged and paid for.
PICKUP AND DELIVERY
Once an order is transferred to the customer, the customer accepts responsibility for the product. The Lil’ Baker, LLC is not responsible for damage, loss, or mishandling after transfer.
Pickup happens at the agreed date and time. If the customer is running late or needs to adjust the time, the customer should reach out as soon as possible. A 15-minute grace period applies. After that window, the order will be treated as a no-show and will be forfeited without refund due to the perishable nature of the goods.
For delivery, the customer must be present and available at the agreed location and time. A 15-minute grace period applies. If The Lil’ Baker, LLC receives no call, message, or other contact within that window, delivery will be treated as unsuccessful, The Lil’ Baker, LLC will leave, and the order will be forfeited without refund.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made at least three days before the agreed pickup or delivery date to receive a refund of any amounts already paid.
Cancellations made fewer than three days before the agreed pickup or delivery date are not eligible for a refund.
